How to upgrade Artica to a nightly build ?

Nightly builds are not passed Q.A tests. but in some cases you want to get new features or fixed bugs.
Here it is the procedure to upgrade your current Artica version to a nightly build version.
You have 3 ways to upgrade your Artica version to a Nightly build.

Upgrade manually from a tarball

cd /root
/etc/init.d/artica-postfix stop
/etc.init.d/cron stop
tar -cvf /root/artica.old.tgz /usr/share/artica-postfix
tar -xf artica-x.x.xxxxxx.tgz -C /usr/share/
/etc/init.d/artica-postfix start
/etc/init.d/cron start

Using artica-update by command-line


/usr/share/artica-postfix/bin/artica-update --upgrade-nightly

If you want more verbose informations :

/usr/share/artica-postfix/bin/artica-update --upgrade-nightly --verbose

Using the Web interface

On the top tool-bar select the link that display the Artica version or the 2 arrow that turns


  • Click on "Parameters" tab.
  • Enable the Enable nightly build updates option.
    Enable this option will allow Artica to check each 60 minutes (by default) if there is a new version.
    If you want to perform this operation on a specified schedule, just enable the "Update Only on specified schedule" and set the correct schedule.
